7. What’s a site? What’s an enterprise?
There are two types of entities that are tracked and reported on in
Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence’s Technology Database. A site is a payrolled establishment
in a single location. An enterprise is a parent, corporation, or higher-level organization
that a site belongs or reports to. Typically, an enterprise consists of many sites.
As an example individual locations (sites) of Lotus report to the enterprise of
IBM. Likewise, individual locations (sites) of the U.S. Bureau of Census report
to the enterprise of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
