CREATE YOUR ENTERPRISE SEARCH:
On the Enterprise Search page choose your
search categories from the left side of the page. If you want to search for a specific account click on Search
By Enterprise Name, then enter the company name. Remember that it has to be an exact match, so do not type Inc. or
Co. if you do not know exactly how the company name is spelled in the
database. After typing the enterprise
name, click on Save This Selection.
If you want to search for enterprises that
are not named accounts, but have geographic or technology characteristics, you
can select your criteria from the left side of the Enterprise Search page. If you want to search for enterprises
headquartered in your geographic territory, click on Enterprise Headquarter
Geography and choose the description
of your territory, for example State.
Then select your state and click on Save
This Selection at the bottom of the
page.
GET RESULTS:
After
choosing your selection criteria, scroll to the bottom of the page and select
:“Go Get” 1) List of Matching
Enterprises. You will now need to select your targeted
enterprise by clicking on the blue link that is the enterprise name.
ENTERPRISE SECTIONS:
There are several views of the enterprise that you
can access from this Enterprise Summary page.
Along the top of the page are a number of sections – they are all blue
links. To get further information on the
enterprise for each section, click on the blue link. Following are the enterprise sections and the information found
in each one.
1) Enterprise Summary:
You will now be in the Enterprise Summary
of the enterprise. This summary will
give you a quick look at the number of sites that are linked to this enterprise
in the database, the enterprise type and rank, # of employees enterprise-wide,
etc.
2) Contacts: We collect C-Level contacts at the
enterprise. For example, CEO, CFO, CIO,
etc. are reported on this page. These
contacts are different from the 18 functional contacts collected at the
site. You can export this contact list
by clicking on the Export List
link above the contacts.
3) Financials: We report the historical financial records
where available to help you track
previous growth and results. Use the
“Stock” link to access current financial performance and more detailed business
analysis from Yahoo! Finance.
4) Technology Totals: The technology totals for the enterprise are
based on the technology totals collected at the sites that are linked to the
enterprise. We roll-up the technology
totals from the sites to obtain the enterprise technology totals. The two available fields for each technology
are the Total Collected Quantity and At Number of Sites. Since we roll-up the site level totals, the
At Number of Sites field shows how many sites reported the presence of the
technology at their sites.
5) Enterprise
Structure: Click on the + sign in front of the enterprise name. The enterprise structure will drop
down. The structure shows the ownership
of the enterprise. Each individual site
in the database that is linked to the enterprise is in this structure. Each blue link is a site and it shows the
state where the site is located. Each
Division or Subsidiary of the enterprise will have a + sign in front of the Division
names. When you open the Divisions you will see the sites linked to each
division. Divisions will have sites
that are Divisional Headquarter sites shown as “DIV” and the Enterprise
Headquarter site will have “HQ”. You
can export this enterprise structure tree by clicking on the Export Tree
link in the top right corner of the structure box.
6) Enterprise Site
List: You will get a list of
all of the sites linked to the enterprise with detailed information about the
sites. To customize the information
shown for each site, you can click on the add/remove fields link located
above the blue line. (This is the same
option that is available when doing site searches instead of enterprise
searches) You will come to a screen
that allows you to check up to 30 fields that you would like included in your
spreadsheet of information on the linked sites. After adding your customized fields, click on Accept Changes
at the bottom of the page. Now, you can
export this list of sites by clicking on Export List above the blue
line.
7) Summary Graphs: The summary graphs are a great tool for
vendor share analysis. You can choose
which product you want to analyze from the Chart Type drop down menu. For example, you can choose Desktop PC share
and the vendors that are installed enterprise-wide will appear as a percentage
of the whole in the graph.
If
you would like to switch to site searching and reporting to further research
your accounts, click on the Get Data tab and select the Go Get Site Searches
and Reports link.
